Operation Overdrive DVD Information
Disney/Jetix has announced the first two releases of Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive on DVD. Volume 1 and Volume 2 will both hit on September 18th. For the first time ever, a Power Rangers show will be released in North America as a complete season, which the studio says they are doing per the wishes of Ranger fans. There will be a total of 5 volumes to cover the entire season run of PROO, which is rumored to be a single season long (to make way for the next version, Power Rangers: Jungle Fury, in 2008). One of the later DVD volumes among these will include the double-length episode "Once A Ranger," which celebrates 15 years of Power Rangers by teaming up 5 members from different previous groups (since this won't air for another month yet, we'll avoid spoilers about that here, but the info, including a pic, is easy to find on the 'net if you really want to know).

The running time for Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive - Volume 1: Brownbeard's Pearl and Volume 2: Toru Diamond will be 138 minutes. Cost is $18.99 SRP each (CA$24.99 SRP each in Canada). There will be a five-part "Ranger Profiles" in-depth interview series, one for each of the five DVD volumes. Another extra that spans all five volumes is the "Ranger Reserve Training Course", which is described as a progressive multi-level game, where you can conquer one level per volume.

We Can Confirm the Special Team-up
The team-up will feature Johnny Yong Bosch, Sally Martin, Emma Lahana, Richard Brancatisano and Matt Austin. Some of these names have been mentioned in the past and thanks to the internet we've been able to confirm most of the names. We can also confirm that the team-up will be two parts. Apprantly, thanks to a Japanese magazine scan, the team-up will feature the rangers going against the son of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd.

A Word To The Opposers
I don't understand this. Why is it that the most vocal and irritable critics of Bruce Kalish continue to watch the show after his inaugural season? I continued to watch the show after S.P.D. because I had hope that the show would change and it would become better over time and because I was a true fan deep down inside. I was eventually right with Mystic Force. Dispite those quarks here and there it was still a good season and an improvement from S.P.D. Though those same vocal critics who are big namers and have been around in the netdom for many years prior to me, still raised opposition to Mystic Force.

Along comes Operation Overdrive, an improvement from Mystic Force and said people continue to raise hell about the season and Bruce Kalish. I have no doubt in my mind that if you couldn't see the producer credits, that they wouldn't be so harsh towards the newer seasons. I'm not saying that Mr. Kalish is a 100% great producer because he still has some time to still get comfortable doing the show.

My solution is one that I hate to hear, but after three seasons of gripe just simply stop watching the show. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. It doesn't make any sense to continue to watch something that continually brings you displeasure. That goes against human nature and common sense.

The All-Star Team-up
I've received word that the all-star team has been filmed. It will air later in the season, possibly in the summer.

The team-up will feature Adam (Johnny Bosch), Tori (Sally Martin), Kira (Emma Lahana), an unknown S.P.D. (possibly Sky), and Xander (Richard Brancatisano). There's also a rumor that Merrick (Philip Andrew) will be an addition to the all-star cast. We will work hard to verify that last bit of information.

We've Fallen A Bit Behind, But Never Fear
We've fallen a bit behind on the Legacy of Power website. I'm currently working on the website and have a plan to get at least a few pages uploaded each week. It didn't help that I tried to change WYSIWYG editors for the website and became flustered and switched back to my previous editor. But the site will eventually be complete for all the masses to enjoy.

We do need help, and by we I mean I need help. If you would like to assist in the building of the website all you have to do is use the contact page or send an email to admin@rangermania.com with the positions available and a sample. The following positions are available.

Picture Gatherer (needs samples of good quality pictures for the various pages)

Web Design (in charge of layout and banners; needs sample of a good banner)

Staff Writer (assists in the writing of the various articles and pages; a sample from one the villain bios that isn't already published is suggested)

If you pass the application we'll hire ya!

More Updates
There has been more updates to the Legacy of Power spin-off site. All of the updates were to the database (the next two updates will be to the database and the third will be to the site overall) and went from Mystic Force to Ninja Storm (partially).

If you're wondering why S.P.D.'s sections have not been updated or uploaded its because anything S.P.D. related will be done at the very end of the sitebuilding (I absolutely dreaded the season, so it would be like pulling teeth and I would never be able to complete most of the website).

Operation Overdrive will not be updated until the fifth episode of the season airs, because of that, the update schedule is to update after every five episodes.

Stay tuned for more news in the future in all arenas.

Power Producers
With Operation Overdrive, the show has some producer changes. Last year the producer title was held by Sally Campbell, but now is being held by Janine Dickins. Ms. Dickins was previously producer during Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder.

A new position, co-producer, has been created. Jackie Marchand has worked with the series since season three as assistant story editor until her departure after Time Force. When former collegues Doug Sloan and Ann Austen (formerly Knapp) returned for the 11th season as executive producers, Jackie returned as an uncredited story editor. Last season, Jackie finally was credited as a full story editor onscreen. This year after 11 seasons with the show (her only absences being seasons one, two, and Wild Force) Jackie has become a producer. We would like to thank Jackie on her official promotion. Maybe we'll see Executive Producer Jackie Marchand sometime in the future.

"Thanks. I've just been so slammed schedule wise. Add a (nearly 3 year old) boy to that and almost all free time is gone. All worth it though.

BTW - (you guys probably already know this) There is going to be a new animated version of Power Rangers. Friend of mine is doing the sound efx on the 2 minute promo and said it looks amazing. Hopefully I'll hear from somebody on that project.

Power Rangers Operation Overdrive Press Release
In the unprecedented 15th incarnation of the hit franchise, "Operation Overdrive" chronicles the adventures of five brave teens on an exciting global treasure hunt filled with mind-crunching puzzles to decode, action, adventure and spectacular battles, on a quest to find the "Corona Aurora," a crown said to bestow ultimate power to the wearer. Dark forces from the past awaken and search for the missing crown, which is encrusted with five magnificent jewels from seven galaxies, which will make evil unstoppable. The jewels must be found and secured or evil will wear the Corona Aurora. Our world and the entire universe's fate rests in the hands of "Power Rangers Operation Overdrive."

Geared towards boys 3-8 and has a parental guide of TV-Y7-FV, "Power Rangers Operation Overdrive" is produced by Ranger Productions Ltd.

While on an archeological excursion in Africa, billionaire/adventurer Andrew Hartford unearthed the crown portion of what he believes is the Corona Aurora. The jewels of the crown were missing from the corona. Upon returning home, Standish is visited by the crown's ghostly Templar Knight who assured him he has found the crown, but in doing so he was now responsible for protecting it. If the crown falls into the wrong hands, it can mean disaster not only for Earth but the entire universe.

Now Hartford must scour the globe and find the five jewels that were scattered across the Pangea many eons before man even existed. He uses his intelligence and wealth to construct the technology and machinery, including morphing Trackers, which he entrusts to an elite team of specialists to track down the jewels and save the universe. He assembles Power Rangers Operation Overdrive.

The team consists of Hartford's excitable and impetuous son, Mackenzie or Mack, who grabbed the Tracker to become a ranger and live out his dreams of adventure. Mack, the Red Ranger, possesses superior strength. While Rose, the Pink Ranger, can become invisible, she is a certified Mensa Genius and child prodigy who enjoys poetry but needs to work on her social skills – something she can't learn in a book. Will, the Black Ranger, is a suave, sophisticated ladies man, ala a younger version of James Bond, who appreciates the finer things in life. The Black Ranger possesses super sight and hearing. Ronny, the Yellow Ranger, is a top race car driver in a male-dominated field, but can hold her own when dealing with the boys. Her enhancement is super speed. Dax, the Blue Ranger is the best international stuntman in the business; with elastic bounce abilities as his genetic enhancement, he can take his stunt work to a whole new level.

As the five teens set out to find the five jewels and defeat those evil doers bent on destroying the universe, it's safe to know that the Power Rangers fight for what's right, honest and good. They're the heroes – "Power Rangers Operation Overdrive."

Starring are newcomer James Maclurcan as Mack/the Red Ranger; Rhoda Montemayor ("Finding Neverland") as Rose/the Pink Ranger; Samuell Benta ("Re-Born") as Will/the Black Ranger; newcomer Caitlin Murphy as Ronny/the Yellow Ranger and Gareth Yuen ("Ponderosa") as Dax/the Blue Ranger.

Bruce Kalish (Disney's "The Famous Jett Jackson") and Koichi Sakamoto serve as executive producers and Janine Dickins is the producer. "Power Rangers Operation Overdrive" is produced by Rangers Productions Ltd and films on location in Auckland, New Zealand.

Tracy Lynn Cruz Retraction
I am here to say that the Tracy Lynn Cruz interview was indeed a fraud, but not in the way you would think. I was led to believe that in fact I was conducting an interview with Tracy Leon (nee Cruz) who portrayed Ashley during Turbo and Space. I stumpled upon her email address while looking for websites about her and found it on the alumni website of her former high school (Mar Vista High School) and decided to pitch the idea of an interview. I was very excited when I received the interview and posted it. Because of people raising questions about the interview and the person who answered the questions, I asked for some kind of firm proof recently. I received it but all of the pictures were fairly old and I was able to find them easily on the internet. I am sorry that people believed that they were reading an interview from Tracy when in fact it wasn't her at all. I should've done some more proper research, but considering it was an alumni website I thought it was very legit which leads me to think that the email address went dormant and was able to be picked up (a fan obviously doing this) and paraded around as Tracy or the person created and submitted the email address with the intention of becoming Tracy. I would like this person to know, this is a form of identity theft and is actually illegal, but most of all you should be shameful for fooling fans of not only Tracy, but fans of Power Rangers as well. Soon, I will remove the interview from the website.

Former Power Rangers Executive Producer, Media Mogul, and Democrat Supporter cheated on taxes?
Haim Saban, according to a recent report, has cheated on his taxes. The man who brought Power Rangers to the US and is a huge supporter for the US Democratic Party was cited in the report. However, the report cited him as a victim of bad advice from professionals that would've allowed him to cheat legally on his taxes. Saban testified before a Senate Commitee about rich Americans trying to cheat taxes, but did it through someone else and didn't testify himself.

Power Rangers Mystic Force: Broken Spell, Volume 1 Review
This review is going to be short, so there's no reason for me to toggle "full-story".

This DVD cleaned up where a lot of others failed and failed horribly where a lot of DVDs did well. This DVD was the first since, "The Best of Power Rangers: The Ultimate Rangers" not to feature a menu screen that didn't move. Keeping in mind, "The Best of Power Rangers" was Disney's first move to DVD for Power Rangers. The DVD, though did finally place the proper opening and ending credits for EVERY episode the DVD featured. There was one problem, there was NO extras other than the S.P.D. episode "History" which was the first half of the Dino Thunder/S.P.D. team-up and was loads better than its sequel, "Wormhole", but still sucked quite a lot. The lack of features hadn't been seen in such a state since the release of Volumes 1-3 of Ninja Storm in 2003. I give this DVD a C- just for effort in some areas and failure in others. If you're a fan, all of this shouldn't matter and it would show Disney that there is a growing fanbase who is willing to buy the DVDs and would eventually prompt the Mouse to finally release all of those seasons onto DVD that they have been sitting on since 2001.

It could be the airing of three episodes at one time as it is ninety minutes in length and does have a number that comes after 33, the number given to the first hour long airing of "Broken Spell". It could also prove to be a made-for-TV-movie that features the Mystic Force cast in a story that takes place outside that of the season. That might account for the decrease in episodes this season.

You can now download Power Rangers episodes on iTunes, for a fee of course. You can now stream episodes of Power Rangers via the Jetix website at www.jetix.tv.

Power Rangers is now avaliable on iTunes
Well it's quite shocking to me quite frankly because I never saw this coming. Perhaps this will make way for the show to be released in complete boxsets in the future.

Mystic Force-Space Patrol Delta team-up....yes or no?
Well there's some debate about this. A member of the online community told me that there would be one and that Brandon McLauren was asked about which color he would like to be (seeing as how his character of Jack was red, but after the finale decided against being a ranger and could return as either red or green), but was later told that there were budget restrictions. I contacted Matt Austin's agent to see if this was indeed true, but was told that there wouldn't be a team-up, or at least not to his knowledge. However I stumbled across this on Matt Austin's website, which shows a difference in Matt's appearance since S.P.D. and shows him near the S.P.D. jeep in S.P.D. cadet uniform. Emma Lahana Updates
First of all it appears the Emma has gotten some recognition for being pretty sexy in 2005, despite the fact that Dino Thunder aired in 2004! Read for yourselves: http://www.theticket.com/girlontv/girlontv.html.

Second Emma has had some announcements lately that I will share with you.

"Hello everybody,

Just an update - i had to leave my situation in New York and I have now relocated to Vancouver, B.C.

And we are aware of the person posting about breaking Brandon and I up... of course this is completely false and also illegal. Thank you for your messages and concerns..."

"Hey everyone,

I want to clear something up. I do not have a my space page. Anyone that is on my space with my name is fake.

It would appear that not only do i have someone pretending to be me, but i have someone very dumb pretending to be me. Seen as you are impersonating someone from New Zealand - you should have probably done a little research and not put Auckland, New Zealand Australia - as they are two different countries.

Maybe you should spend more time reading instead of creating fake pages on my space..."

"Hey everybody,

So you are all mad at me for not being here - thats ok i understand. It was actually not to my knowledge that the board was up and running again.
Now for you to hate me even more...
I am not going to be returning to the forums. I actually asked awhile back for them to be shut down, and it seems they were not. I just feel that there is too much drama going on here and its beyond my control. So i would feel more comfortable setting up something where i can control it and things cant get to crazy.
When that has happened it will be announced on my site.
So for those of you who understand and dont hate me ill see you there - whereever that may be!
And for those of you who dont forgive me, i understand, and good luck with everything!

Regards,

Emma"
